The following release notes cover the past few months of updates and feature enhancements to i GET IT Learning Management Platform.
PowerPoint Publishing Tool Upgrade to HTML5
One of the most popular tools in the i GET IT Learning System is the ability to publish PowerPoints into i GET IT so they can be used in courses. We have now updated the SDK to utilize a HTML5 output. The old version would use a Adobe Flash output but with browsers stopping support for Flash after December 31st 2020, users will now be using a modern HTML5 conversion. This process also allows for better support in your PowerPoint advanced features, such as embedded video, audio, animations and better conversion quality.
Kendo UI Framework Update
The Kendo UI framework is what supports most of our user interface. Functions such as grids, tables, lists, uploading, report graphs and the document editor all rely on the Kendo library. We have completed a process of updating to the most current version of Kendo. This will provide some new options in the document editor, as an example.
Add QuickStarts
i GET IT has added another method to publish videos for users to view in a new QuickStart library. The QuickStarts are developed to short videos authors publish that aren't included in our training courses. These include embedding videos from YouTube, Vimeo and MS Stream. Our i GET IT Authors are adding and will continue to add QuickStart videos as part of their content development process.
Fixes and Small Enhancements
Over the quarter, our devops team has fixed and/or improved many smaller tasks but are not warranted to mention specifically.
